Baby Must Haves: 17 Products You Might Not Know About

Now that we’re out of the newborn phase, I started thinking about my baby must haves. Someone recently asked me what my favorite items for baby were, and I have to admit, I hadn’t thought much about it. There are, of course, items we use literally every single day that I’d pretty much be lost without, and I don’t think I give those items enough credit for saving the day and making life easier.

It can be completely overwhelming trying to figure out what you actually need for baby, don’t you think? My baby must haves are going to be different from someone else’s because every baby is different. But I know I love talking to other moms about what helps their babies calm down, laugh, enjoy bathtime, and be happier.

When I chat with other moms about this, there’s always a common theme: none of the items we mention are things that are on most lists of baby must haves that big box stores tell you you need. They’re things that we’ve tried and succeeded with through trial and error. And i think it’s important that if we find something that works, that we share it with other moms.

So I’ve created a roundup of my favorite baby products that have really been working for Miss Tova. Hope you enjoy it!

  1. Yep agree with so many of these! I would die without our Fisher Price swing! Both my babies loved/love it. I really should look in to that sound machine. We have a sleep sheep but it doesn’t seem loud enough to drown out the noise. Thanks!

    1. Tova loves it!! She’s so happy in it. She doesn’t sleep in it, but I’ve heard it’s great for that too, if sleeping is an issue.

  2. The “Ollie Swaddle” is a MUST HAVE! It’s so easy and light weight, stays secure, and is super cute!

  3. Now with my second child, I can agree with some of these items. I never did the teething tablets. We were recommended them by our doctor, but we chose to go for more natural alternatives.

  4. Any sort of play mat or swing is a must have for babies, such life savers! Thank you for sharing this list, I have showers to shop for!
