Afternoon Coffee Link Roundup, #1

afternoon coffee

I’ll tell you one of my business and personal practices, which I don’t follow 100% of the time, but really try to adhere to: I don’t consume media or read the news first thing in the morning. I usually wake up an hour or two before the baby to work, and I find that I’m much more productive and creative on an empty mind. Once I’ve crossed the big things off my to-do list, I allow myself to read articles, check the news, and scroll through Bloglovin. I read business books (more on that later), but I try to read at least one or two things a day that will inspire my business & personal efforts. I try to read a mix of articles, not just things in any one category. In my experience, you never know where inspiration will come from, so it’s best to hedge your bets by exposing yourself to anything & everything. Here’s a list of what sparked my interest this week (read in the afternoon, not the morning!) and didn’t end up just another open, unread tab on my desktop:

How Does She Do It? ft. Lizette Trent, via LITTLEMISSDESSA (I Included this one, because I read this great series regularly. I think we all wonder this about each other from time to time. Things like “You’re so busy!” “You seem like you’re doing great!” when the truth is, we never really know how someone manages her time, gets through her day, and juggles it all. Every woman has her own struggles and goals, and this series is a great reminder of that.)
