Are you over elephants and bunnies and sweet little owls in pastel colors? These little guys are cute, for sure, but when it comes to nursery art, they can be overdone. It’s fun finding unique art pieces that make our homes pop and stand out, isn’t it? One of the most fun things about designing my two girls’ rooms was picking out cool nursery art for their gallery walls, which hang above their changing tables. I’ve always loved shopping small, so searching the far corners of the Internet to find the best and coolest print shops  out there was not only fun, but I felt good knowing I was supporting small businesses through my purchases.

I really didn’t want either of their rooms to be too babyish; I knew if I decorated with Dr. Seuss or Winnie the Pooh, I’d be redesigning their rooms pretty quickly. Their rooms are designed to last them for a long, long time, hopefully until they’re old enough to have opinions about it, and the art we chose for their gallery walls definitely helped accomplish that (room tour of Tova’s nursery coming soon!). I had a blast finding cool nursery art and quirky prints to make their rooms look unique.

My first daughter’s room is super girly, pink and gold, and Tova’s room is monochrome with splashed of hot pink, so I had to do a little hunting to find shops that sold unique art that fit these two different styles. I started my search on Etsy, where so many independent designers sell their work. You can find a never-ending number of prime, but it is difficult to find the shops that stand out and makes prints that are truly cool and original and not made from stock art. I also love Minted and Rifle Paper Co, because they team up with independent designers to showcase and sell their work. Minted especially is a great marketplace for cool nursery art you can’t find anywhere else.
