Does anyone else feel like it isn’t possible that Tova Hannah is 6 months old? Happy half birthday, sweet girl! I’m excited to sit down and write a 6 month update because I’ve barely had time to breathe these last 6 months, and I need to really think about what it’s been like since she joined our family. I feel like I was just talking about her newborn pictures…
One thing that’s noticeably different — at least for me — is that I’m in NO rush for her to do anything. I saw her try to move her legs in a crawling position a few weeks ago, and I immediately picked her up. Is there anything wrong with wanting her to be a baby as long as possible? It sort of breaks my heart how fast Naomi is growing (she’s grown 5 inches in 1 year… she looks like a little lady now), so I guess I’m trying to savor this baby stage with Tova, since this time I know how fast it’s over.

She’s 22 pounds. You read that right… 22 pounds. And she’s the squishiest, most delicious little thing I’ve ever carried. Sure, my back hurts sometimes, but I’ll take a bad back any day if it means I get to hold her. She absolutely loves to stick her tongue out at people, and she laughs when people do it back to her.
She is the sweetest little cuddler. Naomi wasn’t a cuddler, and still isn’t really, but Tova, she loves to be held and squeezed. Last week she was sick, and the only thing that made her feel better was Doug and me holding her. I was happy to oblige. Last night, she woke up in the middle of the night, then fell back to sleep in my arms. Long after she was alseep, I just held her and stared at her, because it felt so good.

Her little dimply smile and laugh are everything. She just discovered her feet, our dog Winnie, that she can sit up, and so much more. Although we haven’t started solids quite yet, I can tell she’s ready because she stares intently at our food every time we’re eating. She laughs the hardest when Naomi makes her laugh.
Last week, we took Tova’s 6 month pictures, and they turned out incredibly. I worked with Domus Aurea Photography, founded by Renee Street, who did an incredible job capturing Tova’s sweet spirit and demeanor. I loved being in some too, since I’m always the one behind the camera. I rarely get to be in any pictures, and even though she is already 6 months old, there are almost no pictures of just Tova and me. So these are extra special. I have loved getting to know Renee, she is so easy to work with, and wonderful with kids, which doesn’t surprise me since she has her own beautiful baby girl.
Now that we’re pretty much past the hard part of the baby phase, I’ve relaxed into life with 2 kids a little more, and it’s gotten exponentially more fun. The girls interact together now, and we’re able to enjoy our days with both much more easily. I can’t wait to see what kind of adventures are ahead for our family.
Our sweet Tova has brought such goodness to our family, so it’s very fitting that her name means “goodness.” We may not have known right away what her name would be, but as soon as we did decide, we knew it was perfect. Now I can’t imagine our sweet Tova being anyone or anything else, and I look forward to the next 6 months.

I saw these photos on your instagram and I melted. What a cute photo shoot! I never did a six month celebration and now I feel so guilty! I should have done something like this. Hannah is such a beautiful little baby girl, I hope her life is very blessed!
