On Taryn: cuteheads graphic tee // The Golden Tot Shop headband // This Tribe of Three shorties

I can totally see my daughter holding her own hand up in protest as I take a picture of her. She’s done it before. And maybe that’s what I love about these so much: they’re cute, of course, but so sweet and child-like. Her expressions are priceless and Brittney, owner of The Golden Tot Shop & designer of that adorable headband pictured here, did a great job of capturing her little one.

But there’s something else I love about this sweet outfit. It’s so innocent and playful, just as a baby’s outfit should be. I may be in the minority — just search #kidsfashion on Instagram if you want to see kids hundreds of thousands of kids dressed in pretty mature outfits — but I love when children are dressed like children in sweet rompers, darling dresses and playful tees. This outfit was made for playtime and imagination. The adage that kids seem to be growing up incredibly quickly these days sure seems true to me… Why not give them whimsical and playful clothing that preserve their innocence as long possible?

I also love that the whole outfit comes from small, handmade brands. Knowing first-hand the challenges small businesses face, I love seeing handmade shops come together to support each other. Shop these brands using the links above (no affiliate links embedded, FYI).

Happy Monday!

PS – Tonight at 7pm, we will be launching our VERY limited capsule collection of food-related Heart Patch Leggings for toddlers. The collection includes donuts, waffles, sprinkles and more. It’s expected to go quickly, so set your alarm and head to cuteheads.com tonight at 7pm! There will be a reminder posted on Instagram, so make sure you’re following there.

  1. Those leggings are just adorable! The first picture in this post reminded me of Little Edie in Grey Gardens a bit (though your little one pulls it off so much better!).

  2. This outfit is so cute! My son sometimes says “NO!” when I try to take his photo so I don’t, but usually he will ham it up for the camera and pose saying “mommy take my picture!”

  3. The camera surely loves her, she is a doll! I like little ones to look like little ones too not some pared down version of Brittany this or that!

  4. I love seeing kids in kid clothes instead of tiny versions of adult clothes. I love her shoes in this picture – I wish they made them in my size!

  5. Omg those legging are to die for!!! Little girl clothing is the best! I’m going to be so sad when my daughter outgrows all the cute stuff!
