For past photoshoots, I stressed and stressed over every little detail: location, date, time, what we were all wearing… I can’t tell you how I agonized. I don’t know if it’s lack of time, lack of sleep, or the fact that I just really don’t care as much, but this year was a total breeze. Our amazing photographer Jessica from Paperhearts Photography told us where to be and when, we showed up, she took the pictures, and that was that. It was totally seamless and easy. It might have been the bird-sized mosquitoes attacking us, but I wanted it to be over as quickly as possible! Jesssica was efficient, and being a mom herself, knows how to get a toddler to smile for the camera.

We based our outfits around Naomi’s; I fell in love with this little buffalo plaid dress from Zara, and knew she had to wear it for the shoot. We also loved the idea of using a cozy blanket (even though it was NOT cold), and we knew this monochrome blanket from Lindsay Marcella would do just the trick.

I’m not posting all of them because we want to save some for our New Year’s card, but I love how they turned out… it was hard to choose favorites!

  1. How fun! I haven’t had professional pictures done of my family…I probably should. I love to take pics of the kids at Christmas though, one of my favorite things to look back on.

  2. These are absolutely beautiful! This is our first year taking family christmas photos and I can’t wait to see how they turn out!

  3. So fun! We just had our family pics done too. It’s great when you have a good photographer who has lots of ideas and just makes you feel comfortable! I always stress about them too. These came out so beautiful! I love your color scheme and how beautiful your family is! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Too cute! I obsess over family pictures too, but it seems like the best ones are always the easiest and casual. My daughter used to “cuddle” her brother when I was pregnant. Gotta love them!

  5. What adorable photos!! I love them all. So precious. I have no cute photos of my family now that I have teens. Enjoy it while they are young!

  6. Beautiful family! I love her dress! We’ve had family photos taken twice now and it is very stressful. My fiance hates having his picture taken and Parker is usually over it before we even start! But I always love how they turn out. It’s nice to have the memories ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. These are adorable! I love the one of you swinging your daughter and the idea of the blanket is clever too. Professional photo shoots like these make such a difference.

  8. Oh my gosh, such wonderful family pictures! How do you get your hubby to go along with a photo shoot? Mine is always so difficult ha. Thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures!

    1. He’s not real thrilled to do it, but as long as I tell him exactly what to wear, where to be and when, he’s always glad we did it!

  9. You have a beautiful family and your photos came out amazing! I’m a big planner but sometimes I find things turn out fine when I go with the flow instead of planning everything out.
