Sometimes I feel like my toddler has a better social life than I do. Invitations to parties she’s invited to line our wall, and I’m pretty much her chauffeur, driving her from event to important event. Most of these events are birthday parties, and each one is cuter than the last. At this age, they’re interacting with each other, they know each other, and have full-on conversations. I love watching my daughter play with her friends, especially if it means I can just sit and catch up with the parents of the other kids.
All of these parties mean LOTS of birthday presents. I know there are certain gifts I love for my daughter to receive, and others… not so much. Some gifts leave you wondering how many times the item has been regifted, as no one would want to give it to their child, let alone keep it in her house.
There are a few toys that have stood the test of time, items that she’s played with for months or longer, and many of these items I now give as gifts to my friends because I love them so much and trust the makers. Of course, there’s a #shopsmall component to this list because I do shop small whenever possible. Children’s toys is no exception. I know there are some cool toys you’ve never seen before listed here, and I encourage you to look around the makers’ website to see what they offer. You’ll find some really unique toys and gifts for toddlers.
Most of these toys have a learning element to them, whether it be hand-eye coordination, colors, or shapes. I also like that not a one of them makes a loud, annoying noise. Major points for quiet toys!
With the holidays coming up, consider adding a few of these items to your holiday shopping list, or if you’re like me and you have a kiddo who’s on the birthday party circuit, it’s time to stock the gift closet.
