The Cutest Holiday Dresses for Babies and Toddlers

One of my very favorite parts about designing and running a small business is Photoshoot Day. It’s the culmination of a LOT of hard work, and it’s always fun to come up with something creative that illustrates what we were going for with the new collection. This shoot was no different; I love seeing the things I design in action, and I think this might be my favorite collection yet. But I always say that. Wouldn’t these be the perfect Christmas dresses for toddlers? These would be perfect for Thanksgiving too, and even family picture outfits for holiday cards.

Last week, I got together with Ailee of Snapshots and My Thoughts to shoot these two little beauties (our daughters!) in the newest addition to cuteheads, the Cotton Candy Holiday Collection. There was a lot of crazy and dirt in the skirt, since it had been raining ALL weekend. But what was amazing was how well they held up. No wrinkling, and you couldn’t even see dirt on them in spite of the fact that my kid was actually sitting on the ground in the mud in the light mint and gold ‘Wren’ Dress at one point.

How We Styled the Photoshoot

I knew for this shoot, I wanted to be outside. Luckily for us down here in Texas, it’s not quite Winter yet, or even Fall for that matter, so we took advantage of the fact that no one has to wear coats yet.

The fence gives it a rustic, shabby chic look, which contrasts well with the beautiful gold and pastels featured in so many of the dresses. We used a gorgeous garland from GlamFete to tie it all together, as well as a cotton candy prop that Ailee actually made, and some cotton candy photobooth props found on Etsy.

I knew I wanted the styling to be simple, not to take away from the dresses themselves. We used bows from Sophie’s Splendid Shop and Stella Lane.

We bribed the kids with Nerds and graham crackers, and even told them at one point that dinosaurs were hiding behind the fence to get them to look through the holes while we snapped pics of the back of the dresses.

It was a fun day, can’t wait for our next shoot! I’m always planning something; if you’re interested in collaborating on a styled shoot, email me or send me a message on Instagram.

Have a great week. ❤️

  1. So much cuteness! I especially loved the picture of the beautiful little girl hugging the cotton candy lol. That was amazing. These dresses are so delicate and beautiful too, I love them!

  2. Beautiful photos, babies, dresses and everything! I want to go take gorgeous photos now, but alas, this Texas girl is living on the east coast (which is rainy as of now). 🙂

  3. Cuteness overload! Your pictures are absolutely stunning. You capture expressions, vibrant colors, and movement with ease. I look forward to following your fabulous work. Cheers!
