Talking Finding Your Voice, “Overnight Success” & Small Business Challenges on The ...

Little-known fact: 6 or 7 years ago, prior to starting my own business, I worked for a radio show called The Businessmakers, interviewing CEOs & founders about their entrepreneurial journeys. It was a cool gig & I got to meet so many awesome people making awesome things happen. It’s crazy how things come full circle; this Sunday, I’m going to be on that show, interviewed by my friend, the incredible Laura Max Rose (who also blogs at The Light Files), who’s got so much talent & the kindest soul.

Over the years, I’ve developed a passion for helping people who dream of starting their own small businesses. Really, it was borne out of necessity, and it organically grew as my business grew and I learned more about what it took to handle running a business, production, social media and everything in between. If you’ve ever had a dream & had people look at you “you’ll never do that” when you share it with them, then you know how important it is to be a cheerleader to those who need it. Among the naysayers I had in those early days, I had a few people really encourage me & I never forgot that. Now I try to be that encouraging voice to as many people who need it.

Tune in this Sunday to 1070AM in Houston, 3pm CST. Or you can hear/watch (there’s video!) the entire interview at The Businessmakers Show.

  2. So happy to have come across your blog today! Your posts are so inspiring. As a small business owner myself I couldn’t agree more with what you’ve said. I have a long ways to go though so hopefully I can learn much from you!
