When it comes to our kids, it’s really the tiny moments that mean everything, isn’t it? Between the screaming and the temper tantrums and the middle-of-the-night feedings, sometimes it’s hard to even catch a breath throughout the day, let alone stop to appreciate things. I know I’m not at my most grateful when I’m exhausted and covered in spit-up. Some days are an uphill battle, trying to conquer all of your tasks, keep your kids healthy and safe and maintain your sanity all at once.
But then something happens. Your infant smiles at you. Or your toddler gives your baby a hug and says, “Mommy, she’s my best fwend.” And all of the stress of the day melts away, leaving only that incredible feeling that hey, maybe you’re doing something right, and yes, maybe you DO got this after all. To savor and enjoy life’s tiny moments is what keeps us going in between the insanity and the monotony. Those moments truly sustain me and make me feel whole as a mom and as a person.
Bath time is one of the times I really cherish, especially with my almost-4 month old. Like any second child, she doesn’t get as much undivided attention as her older sister did at that age, so her bath time is my opportunity to make her feel special and to bond with her. She really loves the tub, and instantly relaxes when I put her in. She loves looking at herself in the mirror and she loves the soap suds. Plus, is there anything cuter than a baby in a bathtub?
That’s why I was really excited to try Aveeno Baby Wash & Shampoo and Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion for Tova. My first impression was that the wash & shampoo smelled amazing, like freshly washed baby. I’ve always thought that whoever was able to bottle the freshly washed baby smell would be my hero, and Aveeno has managed to do it. The lotion is fragrance-free, which I appreciate, since it stays on their little bodies so long. I know I get overwhelmed by scents, so I can only imagine what they can do to baby noses.
Tova got a little in her eyes when I washed her hair, and just as it says on the bottle, there were no tears. There’s nothing worse than seeing them cry when they get soap in their eyes!
Most importantly, after I used the lotion, Tova’s skin felt amazingly smooth and moisturized, and I could tell that the lotion worked its magic overnight when the dry patches were significantly less dry. Her skin felt a lot softer, which made me a happy mama. When you’re in the throes of taking care of an infant, the little things can mean so much.
I’ll continue to cherish my tiny moments with my kids for as long as they’ll let me! What are your favorite tiny moments?
I partnered with Aveeno on this post. All opinions are 100% my own.
The smile on her face is precious. We forget about ourselves to give all to our children.
What a little cutie!!
This was so precious! Love all your cute pictures! Love that you intentionally make time for these tiny moments 🙂
awww love the pictures!
Beautiful pictures and words. They are so true. Bath time was for sure so memorable for me when my babies were small. All four of my kids struggled with eczema so I used aveeno too!! loved this post!!

Oh my sweetness! Your little girl is beyond adorable! Those cheeks! That smile! I love how you have photos of her in her bathtub! xoxoxoxo
My second child didn’t get the same kind of attention as my first, either. However, I did find myself appreciating the newborn moments much more. I was just trying to survive and figure things out with my first. 🙂
Such a beautiful post, very touching!
Very adorable baby! Super cutie <3 This is priceless and Aveeno is a great brand! Lucky you to partner with them.
