It’s that time again… time to start thinking about your Fourth of July outfits for toddlers and babies! I don’t know when the Fourth of July outfit became so important, but maybe with the invention of all of these little holidays (National Picnic Day, anyone?), the major holidays got bumped up in importance. Or maybe, thanks to social media, it’s become so much more fun to put our kids in cute outfits and post pictures of them. Amirite? I’ve been planning Tova and Naomi’s 4th of July outfits already, and they are C-U-T-E. But if you’re still in need, cuteheads has you covered! Here’s what’s up:
How to Choose Cute Fourth of July Outfits for Toddlers and Babies
1. Dress for comfort. I know some of these giant red, white and blue tutus are cute, but are they comfortable? Probably not. It’s hot. I know in Texas, it’s already been in the 100’s, and I think if I made my kids wear tutus, they’d be pretty mad at me. So make sure you put them in comfy, breathable cotton.
2. Dress for originality. Sure, the usual suspects — I won’t name names, though I shop all of them too! — have cute Fourth of July outfits, but I promise you, EVERYONE will have them. That’s why shopping small is so awesome for special days like the Fourth of July. You’ll find something cute and original, and you won’t have to worry about someone else’s kid — gasp! — showing up to the barbecue in the same outfit.
3. Dress for color. Obviously red, white and blue are the only way to go here. I’ve seen some really cute star-spangled items, some fun graphic tees, and more on Instagram lately. My friend Megan from Willow Crowns released the cutest collection of red, white and blue bows, which are a must-have for the 4th. You can always do all white for the outfit and a fun color bow and shoes. I’m down for that.

Yes! The tutu thing drives me crazy! I feel horrible for tiny girls in tutus and glitter and hot fabrics sweating away just so they look sparkly and patriotic. Just take your styled photo and then let her wear a comfy romper!
All the outfits are adorable, love the little red shoes.
They all look so precious! Love the bows on their hair. 🙂
That dress is so adorable! Simple, comfortable clothes are always my favorites for kids.
Those are all great. They give hint of 4th of July without Stars and Stripes.
Those dresses are cute. Loved the bows
Oh my gosh, they are darling! I love seersucker on littles! And I love that these options are patriotic but not so over the top they can wear them all summer long!
Fourth of July is my favorite holiday and these outfits are adorable! I agree, definitely dress for comfort and ease of moving around!
