I remember in high school my friends and I would all go to an area of Houston known as Harwin, where you could get the biggest, chunkiest, gaudiest beaded jewelry in history for nothing. That was the style, right? Big, bold statement necklaces with big, fake stones… looking back, it was a sad, sad time in my history with jewelry. As I got older, I started gravitating toward smaller, more dainty jewelry that can be layered and stacked. Even now, I have bigger, chunkier pieces that I almost never wear. Maybe it’s because it feels more fussy, or maybe it’s because I don’t like to feel the weight of the jewelry, but I always seem to gravitate toward minimalist jewelry. For my wedding, I couldn’t even bring myself to wear a necklace. Less is definitely more, in my book.

That’s why I was so excited to be introduced to Andrea Montgomery Designs. Her pieces can be described as elegantly simple; they’re great for everyday and can easily transition into night. I attended a blogger breakfast recently that was sponsored by Andrea Montgomery, and we got to spend the morning playing dress up with her gorgeous collection. Everything was so eye-catching but understated. It was exactly the kind of look I feel most comfortable sporting, especially these days chasing after two kids. She was kind enough to gift each of us a necklace of our own, and I was lucky enough to get a piece in my favorite color! It’s in heavy rotation right now. The second I got home from the breakfast, Naomi asked me if she could wear it. I had to at least let her try it on.
I love that she’s local, and that I can try on all of her dainty jewelry at her showroom in Houston, Texas. She’s got a great online store, and is also available in select stores. Stop by her website and shop for amazing gifts and pieces for yourself!
Nice to see some dainty jewelry being shown, usually it is all about big and bulky.
haha I can relate to those dark jewelry days – oh the unnecessary chunk and gaudiness haha. I also love classic, dainty pieces you can wear daily or layer. Lovely choices.
So cute! i’m all about simple jewelry. I don’t wear much jewelry in general, except for rings, but when I pull out a necklace or bracelet, I love for it to be really dainty and small (at least MOST of the time).
Such pretty pieces!

That ring is absolutely gorgeous! I love these jewels a lot, I will give them a look on the brand’s website!
You look stunning btw!
Really pretty. I go for smaller pieces now as well.
Those pieces are all so pretty, I love a good statement necklace but there is something about dainty jewels that just make them more probable for every day wear!
