When I agreed to appear on an episode of Great Day Houston for a segment about how to mix prints, my first thought was, “what have I gotten myself into?” I knew I wouldn’t be picking the outfit myself — that was for the pros — but I was a little apprehensive to appear on TV just 12 weeks post-baby. I was especially nervous about wearing bright colors and patterns… would it be flattering? In any case, I agreed, and was thrilled to work with stylist Natalie Weakly of Signature Style, who hosted the segment and shared her knowledge about how to mix prints like a fashion pro, even if you aren’t one. Turns out I had nothing to be worried about, because Natalie really knows her stuff.
OUTFIT: All pieces available at Muse // Top // Shorts // Shoes (similar) // Bracelet and earrings
I loved getting to know her and learning about how she helps people find the right looks for them, but she also helps people shop in their own closets by putting looks together from what they already have. I could seriously use a service like this. After staring at my entire closet for far too long, everything starts to blend together and disappear. It probably takes someone looking at your wardrobe with fresh eyes to give you a new appreciation for the pretty things you already have. She can then tell you where you have holes and help you fill in with key must-have pieces.
I never would have thought to put the outfit she chose for me together, but it totally worked. The pattern on the shirt wasn’t too bold, and it pulled in color from those awesome Trina Turk shorts. I loved the Summery wedge with it, and the jewelry from new local boutique She Is Loved pulled it all together.
Make sure to stop by Natalie’s blog for all of her pro tips, and chat with her about how she can help you find your signature style.

#1 you are SO beautiful! and #2 I’m so scared of prints, but it’s a goal of mine to start incorporating them more into my wardrobe!
Oh gosh, you are too kind! Thank you so much… I am trying to take Natalie’s advice and incorporate more print into my wardrobe, but it’s tough!

I think having a common color in the two clothing pieces helps as well.
