It was a beautiful night to get together with a handful of lovely bloggers and business owners to have a cocktail and do a little crafting. Want to know how often I do something like that? Almost never. That night, I spoke with one of the other women, Kathleen of Beauty Now, about how difficult it is, balancing work, family and friendships; the one that often gets neglected in the haze of colds and deadlines is those incredibly important friendships. I’m the kind of person who, if given the opportunity, could sit behind a computer working for 8 hours straight. Not healthy. I often have to remind myself that real life is going on around me, and that I’m missing out on so much by constantly throwing myself into work. So it felt good to catch up with Lauren of Sunday Beach, Megan of Greetings from Texas and meet new friends. Candace of Luxe with Kids was the consummate hostess, as always. Adam Nyholt was on hand to snap pics and he did a beautiful job of capturing the spirit of the night. I also couldn’t wait to dig into the swag bag, which included lots of EveryDayHappy baby products (the wipes are awesome!), Gray Gardens Granola, a blowout from Blowdry Bar, and more.
It was a great reminder to step away from the screen and have real, meaningful conversations with friends. Thanks to Tree House Arts & Crafts for hosting us, and for making me feel like the artist I’d like to be.
Love this! Looks like so much fun! Sometimes a good laugh and a crafting sesh is the breath of fresh air that you didn’t know you needed! So great! xo
Yes! It was SO needed… I was seriously overdue for friend time and drinking time
