The Week in Review

It occurred to me that I haven’t actually done a Week in Review post in quite some time, and that’s probably because the weeks tend to run together these days and I don’t even know what day it is most of the time. As Tova grows, I’m starting to get back into the swing of normal life, or at least I’m trying to. It’s been easier than I thought it would be, but Tova still sleeps constantly and because of the c-section, I still have to have a lot of help. So I admit, we’re in a bit of a honeymoon phase. In any case, we’ve been very busy around here, in spite of the fact that I barely leave the house yet.

We’re surviving! I may have supremely dirty hair, a messy house, and sweatpants on every day, but hey, look how cute my little ladies are! They distract from all the bad stuff, I’d say.

Check out two of the new pieces from the cuteheads SS16 Prep Eclectic Collection. The entire collection is a little sweet, a little preppy, and a little funky… I love how it came together, and there will be a slow roll-out of a few more items over the next few weeks after the initial launch. The reviews on Instagram have been SO positive, and I’m thrilled everyone loves it! In fact, I’ve already taken lots of presale orders, and some have eve shipped. If you’re interested in preordering anything you see in my feed, don’t hesitate to email info (at) cuteheads {dot} com.

The office continues to come together! I’m loving the hardware we installed. How gorgeous are these agate knobs? We paired them with some gold bar handles on the drawers, and I love how it all turned out. We still have some furniture that needs to be delivered and lots of little accents to add. When it’s ready, I’ll show you the whole space!

I am absolutely thrilled that these gorgeous Easter dresses are headed to The Monogram Shop in Houston. I absolutely love this place; it’s full of the most darling clothes and gifts that you can personalize, but it also has lots of cool jewelry, clothing, office supplies and pretty much anything you could want for you or your bff. I love to shop her already, and now that they’re carrying cuteheads, it’ll most definitely be my go-to spot for my gifting needs.

Like I said, I don’t get out that much these days. I’m lucky to have a killer girlsquad here in Houston, who brought me breakfast tacos and my very favorite macarons from Macaron by Patisse. Naturally, the birthday cake with sprinkles is my fave. You know you have good friends when they bring the party to you when you certainly are doing no partying.

We had our newborn shoot for baby Tova with my good friend Melissa Fitzgerald. She’s shot lots of pics for me over the years, and so as soon as I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to use her again. These were some of the incredible items we used from some of my favorite handmade shops. I can’t wait to show you the actual pictures, they are GORGEOUS. Melissa is a true talent and she creates magic with her camera. The items you see here are from Fancy Free Finery, Briar Handmade, and Willow Crowns.

I got mastitis 🙁 I had it with my first daughter too, but for some reason it wasn’t as bad this time, probably because I got it during the day while I actually had help around and I could rest and get better. My fever actually got to 103.7. It was NOT fun. I’m feeling much, much better now, thank goodness.

This is one of my favorite nooks in the new office. One of my rituals is to take all my jewelry off as soon as I sit down, and with this gorgeous dish from L. Phillips Design Co. I know I won’t lose anything important. I also charge my phone immediately, and this little portable charger from BAN.DO is the perfect thing to throw in your bag and go so your phone doesn’t die on you throughout the day. I’m glad to say I’m actually getting back into the office and am able to sit down at my computer once in awhile to get some work done. I have a LONG way to go before things get back to normal. but we’re going to get there. I’m enjoying the chaos (for the most part, ha) and excited for the adventures ahead.

  1. Can I please move into your office? That little nook is so beautiful! I have a 13-month-old daughter; I teach part-time, freelance write part-time, and blog. I never have enough time in the day, so I can’t imagine how you’re doing it with TWO!! I am in awe. I’m so sorry you got mastitis – I never got it, but my friends and sister have, and it pretty much seems like the worst thing in the world. I’m glad you’re feeling better though : ) Those sweet Easter dresses and the whole preppy collection is just too darling!! I’m obsessed.

  2. I really love when you rounded out the post with “enjoying the chaos…” I think that is a good mantra, because as much as we try to control things or have expectations of how things will turn out, there will always be chaos. That’s life!

  3. Two is a whole nother ball game! It was so hard for me juggling a toddler and a newborn at first. I wont lie but it took me almost a year to get my act together! Your dresses are amazing and I need to order one for Paige! The monogram shop is always adorable for sweet gifts. Your agate knobs and bowls are absolutely gorgeous! I may have to steal the knob idea one day!

  4. I thought I was busy but you have a TON going on! I’m glad to hear that you are enjoying the chaos and I love those agate knobs!

  5. Love your photos, especially the cute dresses. Reminds me of when my daughter was that size!
