Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

A couple of weeks ago on a trip to Austin, we stopped by a local juice and smoothie bar called Juiceland (coming to Houston very soon, yay!). I ordered a peanut butter banana smoothie. Since that day, it’s all I’ve been craving. It’s the perfect combination of flavors, second only to chocolate peanut butter, but that doesn’t feel quite as breakfast-friendly. Naomi had a kid-sized version of the smoothie I ordered that day, and I’m pretty sure she was hooked too.

Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie… with a Twist

The lovely folks at Malk Organics gave me a bottle of cashew milk, and it’s been burning a hole in my refrigerator. Aside from just straight-up drinking it — and it’s absolutely delicious on its own — I wanted to make myself a peanut butter banana cashew milk smoothie and see how the cashew milk made a difference in the smoothies I’ve been making.

This is incredibly easy to make, full of delicious, healthy ingredients and best of all, portable so you can be out the door in a few minutes if you need to. I shared this with Naomi and she cried when she was done with hers and demanded I give her some of mine, so I’d say it was a win. We were not disappointed with the addition of the cashew milk. It made the smoothie really creamy and only enhanced the flavor. Glad I have a big bottle on hand to use every day!

  4. We’re big smoothie lovers in this house, too – pb and banana are two of our staples. I’ve tried cashew milk before and it is wonderful in a smoothie. I also love throwing in a kale leaf or two…you can’t taste it, but it makes me feel virtuous. 😉
