Happy Wednesday, friends! Last week was one for the books, when we had the opportunity to team up with The Children’s Museum of Houston for one superhero-rific party! I think we can all agree that Summer can be miserable, especially in the heat of the afternoon, which is why it was perfect timing to get some of my favorite bloggers and their kiddos together for an indoor party that included indoor fun AND a delicious dinner. What could be better?
I’ve been wanting to work with The Children’s Museum of Houston for quite some time now, so when they reached out to me to host a party that shows off their Super Powered Summer, I jumped at the chance!

Activities included in their Super Powered Summer — happening now through Labor Day — include “Power Up,” an original show put on by local Houston kids, the S.E.C.R.E.T. program (which sounds AWESOME), lots of fun photo ops and meet & greets with your favorite superheros! The kids favorite part was seeing “Power Up,” where they learned all about being superheros in their everyday lives. The message was beautiful and the kids were mesmerized!
Something I didn’t know but learned through working with CMH is that not only do they have a delicious cafe called The Fresh Cafe inside the museum, but they have TONS of great food options not just for kids, but parents too. I love that you can take your kids to the museum for an afternoon of fun and then feed them — and yourself — healthy options after a long day of play. Our kids enjoyed chicken, fruit, vegetables and quinoa wraps, which the moms loved.
Of course, what party would be complete without CAKE? I turned to my favorite local bakery, Dessert Gallery (remember our super cute 8th anniversary party?) because I knew they’d come through with a cake that was both delicious and beautiful… but I was not prepared for the magic waiting for me inside that box! They went above and beyond for this special event, and the superhero cake they created was pretty dang super.
We had the most adorable party room all to ourselves, with a host and everything who showed us around the entire museum. We got to do all of the kids’ favorite activities and more, and our host kept us laughing the entire time. You can tell he loves what he does and the kids had a blast with him.

The museum’s capabilities for private events is unmatched, and they really roll out the red carper for every group that comes though. The best part about it is they take the worry and stress out of the event for you; you can order all the food, decorations and plates/plasticwear through them, so you’re not lugging in boxes of stuff on the day of your party. You can just show up and trust that everything will be taken care of. Nothing better than that!
Summer has been flying by faster than ever, so it was great to get to stop for just a moment and hang with some of my favorite people, who I haven’t gotten to see much of lately. Life has been whirling by and I feel like if I’m being honest, I don’t feel like I get to spend as much quality time with my kids as I would like, so this was a really fun opportunity to stop and breathe and make great memories with my two favorite girls.

Head to The Children’s Museum of Houston now through Labor Day to enjoy all the festivities of their Super Powered Summer, grab lunch or dinner, and after you go, report back and let me know how you liked it! My kids are still asking when we’re going back, and I can promise you it’ll be soon!
