Summer is officially in full swing, and if you’re like me, you’re planning your Summer vacations and that Summer beach photoshoot! A lot of people take the opportunity to schedule family photos while on vacation because you’re already all together, and often in a gorgeous setting… why not take advantage?

I’ve been scouring the internet for my own beach photoshoot ideas, and then these photos from customers, who styled their daughter in the gray seersucker Kennedy dress, and I’ve been swooning over it ever since.

It does take some planning to coordinate and plan for a Summer beach photoshoot with your family. You’ve got to make sure you have your outfit planned, and the outfits of the rest of your family members.

I find the best way to handle is to start with your kids’ outfits and then plan your around theirs. And you can’t go wrong with a neutral like gray. It goes with everything! I usually put one person in a color or pattern — last shoot, it was my husband — and everyone else in neutrals. That makes planning super easy.

The perfect beach photoshoot dress for little girls is cotton, breathable, and super lightweight. Seersucker is ideal for these types of shoots because not only is the fabric incredibly comfortable, but it’s also easy to wash when she gets it wet and covered with sand.

Which is supposed to happen anyway! Isn’t that part of the fun?

I also love the idea of seersucker for a beach photoshoot because it’s classic and sweet, very reminiscent of childhood. The Kennedy also features a delicate flutter sleeve, which gives this style a feminine touch.
