I write this from bed, as I’m finally getting caught up on life and working on my new Spring/Summer collection for cuteheads. I’m trying to stay way ahead of everything, because I know once the baby comes, there’s going to be no time for anything! I hope to have all of my samples done by the middle of January, so that we can do product photography, photoshoots, production and all that fun stuff BEFORE this little girl arrives. I’m also (finally) doing some maintenance on the business and the blog, and I’m looking through all of my pics on Instagram. This month is going by so fast, I hardly remember what I did without looking at my photos.
One of my favorite things about this blog is getting to know other bloggers offline. I know there isn’t always time for coffee dates and dinners, but once a month, my friend Lauren from Sunday Beach gets a group of Houston ladies together for a fun breakfast known as the #boxwoodsbreakfastclub, named that because we always do breakfast at the cutest little spot, Tiny Boxwoods. Our final breakfast of the year included this decadent cheese board and the scones + muffins below, and plenty of chatting and catching up.
Lauren and I also happen to be due 2 days apart!
Over the weekend, we took our dog Winnie to the dog park. I wish Old Navy made that sweater for grown ups, I need it for myself. You can get it for your little one here (it’s on sale!). Her navy shoes are Cienta, my favorite kids shoe brand ever.
Naomi and I went to the holiday party of one of my favorite boutiques in Houston, Blue Leaf, where talented Houston sketch artist Rong Rong Devoe drew this adorable pic of Naomi in her new Taylor Joelle dress. Cuteness overload.
We finally got around to hanging this awesome canopy tent from Land of Nod (on sale!). We opted for the floor cushion too, and I’m so glad we did. This canopy has been Naomi’s favorite place to hang out ever since we hung it up.
Lastly, my daughter’s birthday and my husband’s are just a couple of weeks apart, and this year we celebrated his birthday with a karaoke party. We sang all night, and would you believe the 8-month pregnant sober person karaoked every word to “We Didn’t Start the Fire?” Because that definitely happened. My husband declared it “my opus.”
We’re getting ready for a quiet week around here. Naomi’s in Winter camp for a few days before Christmas, and then it’s all Chinese food and movies for us. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and happy holidays!
Oh how I miss meet ups with my blog friends.
I’m loving Naomi’s sweater as well and could totally see myself in it, lol! The canopy looks so cool too, I bet my daughter would love it.
I’m expecting in June and I’m not quite feeling overwhelmed but my mind is constantly racing thinking about all that will need to be done prior to delivery. Wishing you nothing but productivity until you’re due!
Happy holidays to you as well!
Congratulations Nicole! Do you know what you’re having yet? I wasn’t stressed at all before, and now that my due date is 8 weeks away, I’m starting to panic. Hope you’re feeling good!!
I’m in love with that little sweater! I want one for me too. The Land of Nod canopy is awesome. We have a tent for my little one and he can’t get enough of it! His little man fort! I think my husband wishes he has one too. Merry Christmas.
I wish I had one more myself, to be honest. I’d go in there and say “mommy needs a time out.” đ
I am new here from Show Your Blog Love. That canopy is adorable! Chinese food at Christmas time is a tradition for us {sometime during this week}. Your cheese board looks just like the one I posted on Instagram last night. We eat many meals like this, thanks to our local Whole Foods market.
Merry Christmas and I am looking forward to reading more Esther.
Thank you so much, Lynda! I’m still dreaming about that cheese board. Going to check yours out, as well as your blog!
Holy smokes, that cheese board looks amazing. I love your photo style!
I love the canopy tent! That looks like so much fun.
Mmmm that cheese plate looks amazing! I love how Houston bloggers seem to have a lot of meet ups, how fun!! Hope preparing the new line is going well – can’t wait to see what January brings you!
I adore your pictures! So beautiful and that cheese plate looks delicious.
OMG gorgeous! Love that dress to! You were beautiful on your special day lady!
