The Return of the Best-Selling Emilia Romper for Kids

Hello, and what a week it’s been so far! I’ve had some pretty big projects in the works, including a few new wholesale accounts (details coming soon!), but I couldn’t go another second without telling you that the ‘Emilia’ Chambray Romper is BACK for Spring/Summer ’16! I still remember the first time I laid eyes on the final product… I knew we had a piece on our hands that customers would fall in love with. Is this not the cutest romper for kids? I’m pretty into it.
The Return of the Emilia Chambray Romper, the cutest romper for kids for Spring/Summer!I have always loved this shoot; basically any shoot involving sweets is going to be a good one in my book. When I first launched this blog, we were doing regular photoshoots inside cool spaces in and around Houston. We shot this at Petite Sweets, a dessert boutique that makes everything in miniature (!!) and had a great interview with the owner. Time became a little crunched as both the blog and the business grew, but I’ve been wanting to start that series up again on a limited basis because it really is so much fun.

We also had THE sweetest model for this shoot. She was absolutely perfect, and unlike any toddler I’d ever seen. She was cooperative, easygoing and would you believe me when I told you she just sweetly looked at the desserts and didn’t want to eat them? Because that’s a real thing that happened at this shoot.

A macaron on top of a mini cupcake. A three year old had more self-control than I did. COOL. 😂

I want to let you guys in on a little situation I’m currently dealing in which another shop is not only selling this original design, but actually stole and is using my photography for it too. She even claims that she took the picture, even though I have all the raw, digital files. The fact that, even after being confronted, she still claims the image is hers leads me to believe we’re dealing with a real crazy, so my lawyer is now involved, mostly because I’m too stubborn to back down! Ha. I know we can’t copyright actual designs (well, you can, but it’s VERY difficult), but photography is inherently copyrighted and owned by the author, so I feel it’s important to take legal action if necessary.

We as shop owners are constantly getting our designs ripped off, especially as we get a little bigger and more visible, but for someone to steal my photography? That’s where I draw the line, especially because there are clear-cut legal steps you can take. I feel like my business is one of my babies, and you protect your babies. Amirite?

In any case, I’m thrilled that the ‘Emilia’ is back in the shop, and I can tell customers are too, because it’s been a best-seller already this season! Shop the ‘Emilia’ Chambray Romper now and get yours for Spring/Summer. xo

  1. First off – that jumper is darling (as is the little model) and really a cute option for the summer! On another note… whoa about the photo stealing. I mean, what the heck? What a weird situation. As adults, how can another store owner claim something thats not hers? Good luck fighting that…

  2. I LOVE rompers on little girls! I obly wish I could look as adorable in them. My two year struggles in then because she likes her belly a lot!

    Great pictures!

  3. Rompers for the win. They are cute, comfy and so practical. Your little model is adorable and your pictures gorgeous. I hope you get this image issue sorted out quickly and sorry this is happening to you.

  4. Your daughter and this romper are adorable! I am always hesitant to wear rompers myself as I do not want to appear like a kid, but they do look lovely when done right.

  5. I am so sorry to hear you are dealing with such drama! That is brutal, but good for you for standing your ground! I adore these photos… wish I could fit into something like that! haha

  6. That romper is adorable! I have been all heart eyes for every kids romper this spring and definitely want to add more to my daughters closet for the summer!

  7. That romper is absolutely adorable! I need to get some for my twins! And I’m sorry about the legal stuff. The internet is full of crazies, and it just sucks that one found you. Kudos for sticking up for yourself though!

  8. I can’t believe someone is stealing your photo and your design! That’s really terrible. It is definitely an adorable romper, and such a cute model. It makes me mad for you. I hope your lawyer is able to resolve the situation.
